Grainful Nature is rooted in an appreciation of natural materials for the unique qualities that make them beautiful. I love working with unique pieces of wood and honoring the individual aspects embodied within each piece. I enjoy highlighting and embellishing the natural facets of the wood to draw your eye around or to create a narrative. In my art making I attempt to honor both the process and the materials. About the artist: I wear many hats; I am an artists, a mother, a therapist, and a lover of the natural world. I believe there is beauty in everything.I am inspired by the culture and practices of native peoples and the understanding that we are all connected. I have had the opportunity to study under some amazing teachers, both formally and informally. I began my formal art education in New York City at the State University of New York @ FIT where I received an Associates Degree in Fine Arts.
