This is a hand crafted mining timber, still possessed square nails in it, when it was liberated for a new life from Ruby Mine near Downieville, CA. Square nails were all hand made in the 1860's. If only this piece could talk; stories of adventures, gold, and of fortunes made and lost. Woven Timber is a creation by Sandy Croft, local woodworking artist in Nevada City, CA. It's fluid S-curves evoke the timeless rhythms of the earth and the enduring strength of the American West.
